"Raising Alpacas with Altitude"

Judy the herd manager, business manager, and manure management specialist for Marquita Ranch, has a lifetime of experience with animals, growing up on a dairy farm in southeastern Pennsylvania. After moving to Colorado in 1982, my earlier dreams of becoming a veterinarian faded and instead turned into a desire to raise a variety of critters, including horses, goats (short lived) chickens, dogs, and the one that changed our lives-the alpaca. Doug is coowner, moral supporter,  and chief consultant  for the ranch, while his other life is the owner of a stucco business for thirty some years.  Our two girls, Jenny and Amanda, have grown up with  alpacas, training and showing them, but their interests have since turned to other things.
